How to Obtain Information from the Records Center

Accident Report Requests:

 

Copies of accident reports are available from the Records Center five working days after the crash has been reported.  Requests may be made in person or by mail.  There is a $5.00 fee per copy.  Checks must be made out to the City of Rockford.  The Record's Center is located on the second floor of the Winnebago County Public Safety Building - 420 West State St., Rockford, IL 61101.

If your accident happened prior to May 1st, 2013 your report is available for purchase in person or by mail.  There is a $5.00 fee per copy. Checks must be made out to the City of Rockford. The Record's Center is located on the second floor of the Winnebago County Public Safety Building - 420 West State St., Rockford, IL 61101.

 

If your accident happened on May 1st, 2013 or after, your report is available for purchase on-line at www.AuthorizedTransaction.com for $13.00 per report. On-line reports are available for purchase twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.


Price Increases for Department Services:


Effective January 1, 2010, a price increase will go into effect for Records Center services.  The change is the result of a continued rise in material and labor costs and is the first in several years.  The increase parallels other Illinois police departments and is consistent with state law.
