Since February 2008, the Department of Public Works and a design team, comprised of DLK Civic Design and Homer L. Chastain & Associates, collected data and assembling framework designs. The ultimate goal of this project is develop the streetscape along the North Main Street and South Main Street (between Green Street and Park Avenue) corridor. This corridor essentially connects the downtown Metro Center (south end) to the Coronado Theatre (north end). Streetscape improvements include new or altered lighting, signage, landscaping, façade improvements, removal of portions of the downtown walking mall, drainage improvements and geometric changes to the intersections.

Current Status:  Project complete except some lighting and landscaping.
