THIS IS A LOTTERY

  • Submitting a pre-application enters your name into a lottery for the ERA program. 
  • More details about the lottery process can be found on the Lottery Process Overview
  • Lottery Date & Notification: 
    • Tuesday 8/19
    • Selected Homeowners (Five-digit case number) will be displayed on the Lottery Results page. They will also receive a phone call and an email.  
  • Strict Deadlines: 
    • Selected homeowners will have 5 business days to submit an online application.
    • The online application includes submitting documentation that shows that you meet all of the eligibility requirements listed on the Lottery Process Overview.
    • Be prepared: Gather the required eligibility documentation listed on the checklist now!

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:   

Below is not a complete list of the program eligibility requirements. A complete list of the eligibility requirements are listed on the City’s Lottery Process Overview.

  • The value of your single family home is less than $209,000
  • Your home is located in Rockford and is not in a flood zone. 
  • You do not have any loans with the City right now. 
  • You were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to make critical repairs to their home.
  • The income of everyone 18 or older living  in your home added together is less than listed on the chart below.

ERA Program Funding: 

The City has been using various funding sources for this program, including a grant award from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). The City received $2,425,000 from the IHDA Homeowner Assistance Fund Home Repair program, and has been leveraging both HUD entitlement funding and general funds to increase the number of households assisted.
