Pedal bus refers to any single-unit device upon which any person may ride, propelled by human power through a belt, chain, or gears, having four (4) or more wheels, and designed and constructed in such a manner as to engage in the business of carrying groups of passengers for hire as agreed by pre-arranged contract. A Pedal Bus license application can be made in writing by the owner or manager of the pedal bus to the Customer Service Center as designated by the Finance Director. To obtain a license:
- Complete Pedal Bus License Application and pay applicable fee.
- Provide all required documentation including pictures of all four sides of each unit, certificate of insurance and copies of all driver's licenses of each Pedal Bus operators.
- Application must be approved by all applicable departments; which will include an inspections by the Rockford Police Department.
- If service includes to bring your own bottle (BYOB) you would need to complete the supplemental Pedal Bus License application form:
